"Jellies on the Rise" is a vibrant alcohol ink painting inspired by the underwater adventures of Jacques Cousteau. From a young age, the colorful illustrations in Cousteau's books sparked a lifelong fascination with the ocean. As an adult, I pursued this passion through snorkeling trips in Hawaii and Mexico.
My paintings aim to capture the exotic beauty and serene atmosphere of these underwater encounters. Alcohol ink, with its rich, saturated tones, perfectly replicates the underwater light and color. The jellyfish, graceful and ethereal creatures, are the stars of this piece. Their delicate forms and vibrant hues evoke a sense of peace and harmony with nature.
This painting invites viewers to immerse themselves in the underwater world, a place of tranquility and wonder. It's a tribute to the beauty and diversity of marine life, inspired by the adventures that shaped my childhood and continue to inspire me today.
